CEDAR PARK, Texas – Tuesday night, the Texas Stars defeated the visiting Colorado Eagles 5-3 thanks to a 4-goal game from Nick Caamano and a 24-save performance from rookie goaltender Ben Kraws.

The Eagles got on the board first when Jason Polin put a wrist shot past Kraws from the right-wing circle at 16:46 in the first period. The Stars would tie the game 1-1 when a shot from Michael Karow bounced off Fredrik Karlstrom and past goaltender Arvid Holm.

The Stars kicked off the scoring in the second period when Nick Caamano powered his way past two Colorado defenders and banked a shot off a third to make it 2-1. Colorado evened the score 2-2 when Peter Holland jammed a puck past Kraws from the side of the crease.

In the third period, Caamano tallied his second goal of the night when he skated the puck into Colorado’s zone and buried a shot over Holm’s left shoulder making it 3-2. Colorado would once again tie the game when Jack Ahcan put a one-timer from the left-wing circle past Kraws making it 3-3. Caamano sent the hats flying with his first professional hat trick when he deflected a shot from Alex Petrovic past Holm giving the Stars a 4-3 lead. Caamano would record his fourth goal of the night and secure the victory for the Stars with an empty net goal with only six seconds left in the game.

Arvid Holm saved 22 of 26 shots for the loss
