CEDAR PARK, Texas – Wednesday night, the visiting Colorado Eagles defeated the Texas Stars 3-2 thanks to three straight goals in the first period and a 29-save performance from Ivan Prosvetov.

Texas got on the board just 35 seconds into the first period when Luke Krys scored his first professional goal with a wrist shot from the blue line that was deflected by a Colorado defender and past goaltender Ivan Prosvetov. Colorado tied the game 1-1 when Jason Polin put a quick one-timer past Ben Kraws. Colorado would take the lead on a power play when Brad Hunt beat Kraws with a big slap shot from the high slot, making it 2-1. Colorado added to that lead with a one-timer from the top of the left-wing circle from Keaton Middleton, making it 3-1.

In the second period, neither team would score despite a minute and fourteen seconds of 5-on-3 power play time for the Stars.

The Stars cut the Eagle’s lead to one when Mavrik Bourque collected his own rebound at the top of the crease and put it over the blocker of Prosvetov, making it 3-2. Texas would pull their goaltender in the last minute of the game in favor of an extra attacker but would not be able to tie the game and would split the weekend series with Colorado.

Ivan Prosvetov saved 29 of 31 for the win.
Ben Kraws saved 21 of 24 for the loss
