COLUMBUS, Ohio – On Monday night, the Columbus Blue Jackets beat the Edmonton Oilers 6-1 at Nationwide Arena in downtown Columbus. The Blue Jackets scored three goals in under 15 minutes of play, another fast start for Columbus playing at home.

Sean Monahan scored twice, Cole Sillinger had one goal and two assists, and Mathieu Olivier and Adam Fantilli scored. With less than 6 minutes before the end of the game, Mikael Pyyhtia scored his first NHL goal. Blue Jackets’ Goaltender, Elvis Merzlikins, was 27 seconds away from a shutout; he made 31 saves.
