ROANOKE, Va.- It was Star Wars and Stick It To Cancer night, and The Force was with the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs, with a 4-2 win over the Fayetteville Marksmen. With top goalie Austyn Roudebush on injured reserve, EBUG (Emergency Backup Goaltender) Tyler Roy was in the net. With Jedi-like reflexes, he made 29 saves.

The first period was scoreless, but the second period exploded for Roanoke. All four goals were made in this period, including 2 less than a minute apart! Owen McDade opened the scoring with an unassisted shot. Dominiks Marcinkevics scored next, on a two-on-one breakout with Alex DiCarlo. A redirect from Billy Roche gave goal number three to Josh Nenadal. He also had goal number four with a pass from Stephen Alvo.

The third period saw Fayetteville with an empty net for eight minutes of the period. The Dawgs tried to score on it, but much like the Death Star, the invisible shield must have been up.
