JACKSONVILLE, Fla – Game 6 of the South Division Semifinals between the Jacksonville Icemen and Florida Everblades took place Tuesday night. The Icemen entered the game up 3-2 in the best-of-seven series, with a chance to eliminate the Everblades with a win. Florida had other ideas and took a 4-1 victory forcing a Game 7 on Wednesday, to decide who will move on to the South Division Finals to face the Orlando Solar Bears.

After a scoreless first period, Florida broke the game wide open, scoring three goals in the second period. With Jacksonville struggling to generate anything during the period, Bobo Carpenter opened up the scoring with his first of the night at the 5:04 mark. Cole Moberg and Logan Lambdin both netted the goals, to end the period up 3-0, much to the frustration of the Jacksonville players. Jacksonville’s Justin McRae scored on the powerplay late in the third period to deny Cam Johnson a shutout. With over four minutes left in the game, Jacksonville pulled Matt Vernon from the net for the extra attacker. Bobo Carpenter scored his second of the night with an empty net goal, sealing the victory for the Everblades, to keep the series alive.
