SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah Ghost Pirates kicked off their highly anticipated Margaritaville weekend on Thursday night, hosting the Florida Everblades in a closely contested matchup. The Ghost Pirates held the lead for much of the game, but the Everblades managed to tie the score in the third period, sending the game to overtime.

In what has become a hallmark of matchups between these two rivals, tensions ran high throughout the game as both teams maintained a competitive edge. However, unlike previous meetings, the game remained remarkably disciplined, with neither team engaging in fights nor earning roughing penalties.

With the game knotted at 3-3 heading into overtime, Florida’s Oliver Chau sealed the victory for the Everblades, netting the game-winning goal. Despite the loss, Savannah’s goaltender Keith Kinkaid delivered an exceptional performance, making 40 saves on 44 shots and keeping the Ghost Pirates in the game until the very end.
