ORLANDO, Fla – It was a hard fought, high scoring Sunshine State Showdown Wednesday night as the Tampa Bay Lightning took on the 2024 NHL Stanley Cup Champions Florida Panthers. The preseason match up took place at the Kia Center in Orlando, which is home to Tampa’s ECHL affiliate the Orlando SolarBears. The Lightning took the win 7-8 with the winning goal being made by Conor Geekie with assist by Darren Raddysh and Jaydon Dureau at 19:58 in the third period. The Lightning are currently 1-1 and the Panthers are 2-1 in the preseason.
Tampa’s next preseason matchup will be on Friday September 27th against Nashville.
