ALLENTOWN, PA – The Lehigh Valley Phantoms faced the Grand Rapids Griffins Saturday night at the PPL Center, with the Griffins winning 5-2.
Dominik Shine got the Griffins on the board at the 16:14 mark, and 71 seconds later, the Griffins struck again for a 2-0 lead on a goal by Cross Hanas. The Phantoms scored early into the second period to cut the lead in half on a goal by Rodrigo Abols. Midway through the second period, the Griffins took a 3-1 lead on the first of his two goals on the night by Amadeus Lombardi. The Phantoms battled and cut the lead to 3-2 with a goal by Anthony Richard, but any momentum the Phantoms gained from the goal was short-lived. Less than a minute later, the Griffins retook a two-goal lead with a goal by William Lagesson. The Griffins would put the game out of reach when Amadeus Lombardi scored his second of the night early in the third period.
