DULUTH, Ga. – The Greenville Swamp Rabbits made the trek down I-85 to take on the Atlanta Gladiators on Saturday night at Gas South Arena for Star Wars Night. Both teams battled hard from puck drop in what quickly became a physical game. Although the Gladiators struck first with a goal from Ryan Cranford with minutes left in the first period, the Swamp Rabbit would net two of their own in the second to take the lead.

The Gladiators were dealt a blow early in the third period after a goal on the ice was called back due to goaltender interference. However, Cody Sylvester would not be denied and tied the score midway through the third for Atlanta. Regulation ended with the teams tied at two, but the extra overtime was not enough to determine a winner and a shootout began. Unfortunately, for the second night in a row, the Gladiators were unable to find the back of the net when they needed it most and they fell to the Swamp Rabbits by a score of 3-2.
