ESTERO, Fla. – Friday night’s game at Hertz Arena wasn’t as high scoring as the night before, but the results were the same: the Florida Everblades edged the Greenville Swamp Rabbits 3-2 in overtime.
A second consecutive sell-out crowd witnessed a more physical game, with both teams skating with high intensity. Everblades defenseman Patrick Holway and Swamp Rabbits forward Ethan Somoza each had two goals. Patrick Holway’s second goal came on the power play in overtime when he fired a wrist shot past goalie Luke Richardson with 57 seconds left in overtime. Luke Richardson made 29 saves on 32 shots for a .906 save percentage for the loss, and Evan Cormier took the win with 32 saves on 34 shots for a .941 save percentage. Patrick Holway took the First Star of the Game with his two-goal performance.

I write for and photograph the Florida Everblades for ITR. I am a retiree that has turned my hobby of photography into a business. I currently live in Sarasota, Florida with my wife, Christy, but I'm originally from California. My previous career has taken me all over the US and the world and I definitely enjoy traveling. I've played hockey for over 30 years, learning as an adult, and love the game.
