PHOTOS: Greenville Swamp Rabbits vs. South Carolina Stingrays – 03/21/2025

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays won their ninth consecutive game, beating the Greenville Swamp Rabbits 5-1 at the North Charleston Coliseum in front of 5,644 fans on Friday night. Charlie Combs, Micah Miller (2), Dean Loukus, and Tyler Weiss all scored for the Stingrays. The team’s goaltender, Seth Eisele, made an impressive 30 saves out of 31 shots.

The Stingrays quickly took the lead when Combs scored a goal just three minutes into the game. Loukus intercepted the puck at center ice and passed it to Josh Wilkins, who then set up Combs for a breakaway. Combs scored his 20th goal of the season with a blocker side shot that Greenville goaltender Pierce Charleson failed to stop. Miller then extended the lead by scoring his own 20th goal of the season, with a top-shelf shot past Charleson.

Justin Nachbaur and John Parker-Jones kicked off the second period with a quick fight just 13 seconds in, then Loukus scored his second goal in the last three games. Carter Savoie got the Swamp Rabbits on the scoreboard late in the second period, marking his 20th goal of the year and the only point for the Rabbits at this game. Eisele managed to make the initial save, but Savoie nailed the rebound.

With two minutes left, Greenville pulled their goalie, to add an extra player to try to score. Miller was quick to seize the opportunity and scored an empty net goal, marking his second goal of the game and bringing the score to 4-1. Shortly after, Weiss delivered a powerful slap shot extending the lead to make it a final score of 5-1.
