ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Hershey Bears and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms faced off Saturday night at the PPL Center, with Hershey winning 3-2 in an overtime thriller.
The first period was uneventful with no scoring, no penalties and no goals scored. The home crowd was anxious for the Phantoms to score their first goal as this game featured the annual teddy bear toss.
The second period began and although the scoring chances increased, fans continued to hold onto their teddy bears until the 19:30 mark of the period when Jacob Gaucher finally lit the lamp. The goal gave the Phantoms a 1-0 lead but more importantly created a storm of teddy bears onto the ice.

Both teams scored goals later in the third period with the Phantoms holding a 2-1 lead heading into the closing minutes of regulation. A late surge by the Bears concluded with a goal by the Bears Henrik Rybinski at 19:57 of the third period and sending this game to overtime. In OT the Hershey Bears finished their comeback with a goal by Chase Priskie at the 4:39 mark.
