The first period started fast and furious with Dylan Stewart scoring for Huntsville just two minutes into the game. Going into the second period things turned sour for Macon quickly as team captain Jarret Kup was penalized for hooking, the ensuing Huntsville power play allowed Matt Allen to score putting the Havoc up 2-0. Just four minutes later, Zack Conner was able to score his second goal of the season and widen the lead to 3-0. Later in the period, John Kalijan was penalized for the delay of the game, but once again, the Mayhem was unable to take advantage of the power play, and the period ended 3-0 in favor of Huntsville.
