MACON, Ga. – The Huntsville Havoc were once again in the Macon Coliseum to take on the Macon Mayhem on Saturday. The Mayhem had no answer for Huntsville tonight as the Havoc took the win 4-0.

The Huntsville Havoc came to Macon ready to show that they are ready for the playoffs and just 30 seconds into the game Kevin Weaver-Vitale scored the first goal of the game and of his professional career, putting Huntsville up 1-0. Then around thirteen minutes into the period Phil Elgstam was able to bypass Macon’s defense and bring the Huntsville lead to 2-0. Huntsville’s Buster Larsson was penalized for tripping and sat in the box for the last 31 seconds of the period.

The start of the second period saw Macon on a power play as Larsson was still serving his penalty from the first period but Macon was not able to take advantage. As Huntsville returned to full strength Dylan Stewart was able to score with a loose puck rolling between the knees of Macon’s Josh Boyko. Just a minute later Jack Jaunich was able to get past Boyko to bring the Huntsville lead to 4-0. Dan Winslow and Connor Fries were both assessed penalties for roughing during the second period which brought the total penalties to five for the period.

The third period was uneventful as neither team were able to score. Both teams battled hard but failed to find the goal. Jake Goldowski was assessed a penalty and spent the last minute of the season in the box. Meanwhile one last goal attempt from Dan Winslow in his final appearance with the Mayhem was foiled by Huntsville goaltender Brian Wilson as the final buzzer sounded. The Mayhem ended the season ninth in the points standings and Huntsville will enter the playoffs with a second place berth.
