CEDAR PARK, Texas – Friday night, the visiting Iowa Wild defeated the Texas Stars 4-3.
The Wild got off to a quick start scoring, just 34 seconds into the first period when Turner Elson jammed a puck past Stars netminder Matt Murray. Curtis Mckenzie tied the game 1-1 when he deflected a backhand shot from Mavrik Bourque past Iowa goaltender Jesper Wallstedt. Iowa regained the lead when Steven Fogarty redirected a wrist shot from Caedan Bankier past Murray, making it 2-1.

In the second period, Matej Blumel tied the game 2-2 with a one-time shot from the left circle. The tie would be short-lived, as Elson scored his second goal of the night just 38 seconds later, giving the Wild a 3-2 lead.

In the third period, the Stars would tie the game for the third time, when Matthew Seminoff slapped in a rebound past Wallstedt, making it 3-3. Caedan Bankier would score the game-winning goal for the Wild when he put a wrist shot past a screened Murray on the power play.

Jesper Wallstedt saved 30 of 33 shots for the win.
Matt Murray saved 18 of 22 shots for the loss.
