DULUTH, Ga. – Friday night welcomed the Jacksonville Icemen to Gas South Arena to face off against the Atlanta Gladiators for the much anticipated Teddy Bear Toss game. The Gladiators stepped onto the ice determined to make some teddy bears fly and had a premature start to the festivities less than four minutes into the game, after a power play shot from Eric Neiley was waved off and ended in a no goal call after a review showed the net had been knocked off its post prior to the goal. Carson Denomie finally lit the lamp at 11:53 so that the Gladiators could officially signal the start of the toss. However, the shower of stuffed animals were not the only exciting aspect of the game, as the Gladiators shutout the Icemen by a final score of 3-0 with Drew DeRidder stopping all 33 shots he faced.
