STATELINE, Nev. – The Tahoe Knight Monsters faced the Jacksonville Icemen for the second night in a row on Friday night. After beating them in overtime, Jacksonville had spoiled Tahoe’s inaugural game, so Tahoe was looking for a win. They did just that with a 3- 1 victory for their first-ever franchise win.

Troy Loggins put the Knight Monsters on the board first at 9:36 with a power play goal, slipping the puck past Jacksonville’s Justen Close. This was the first pro-career game for Close, who would earn himself the #2 star of the game after stopping 36 shots on goal during the game.

In the second period, a short-handed goal from Brandon Tabakin put Tahoe up 2-0. In the third period, Davis Koch scored for Jacksonville on a power play after a game misconduct given to Tahoe’s Sam Mayer, who was given a major penalty for boarding Chris Grando. With 45 seconds left in the game and the netminder lifted for an extra attacker for Jacksonville, Bear Hughes scored to seal the victory for the Knight Monsters. Tahoe netminder Jesper Vikman earned himself the #1 star of the game.
