ESTERO, Fla.- With the series tied 1-1, the Florida Everblades returned home to host the Kansas City Mavericks for game three of the 2024 Kelly Cup Finals. The first two games saw each team win in dominating fashion; the Everblades won game one 8-1, and the Mavericks won game two 5-1.
7,107 partisan fans filled Hertz Arena, intending to carry the home team to a win and series lead. Kansas City scored at 8:02 in the first on Jacob Hayhurst‘s fifth goal of the playoffs and second of the series. Logan Lambdin (5) tied the game four minutes later. The tie would last two minutes before the Mavericks scored on David Cotton’s (7) goal. He would score his second of the game to close out the scoring in the first period. The crowd would stay quiet until 10:24 of the second when Mark Senden (7) closed the Mavericks’ lead to one. The Everblades dominated the third period, scoring four goals, three by Oliver Chau (8), to seal the win 6-3. Game four is on Friday at Hertz Arena at 7:30 pm.
