TOLEDO, Ohio – Monday night, the Toledo Walleye went up against the Kansas City Mavericks for Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals in the Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Walleye took a 4-3 victory, after using a three-goal second period to take command of the game. Riley Sawchuk of the Walleye led the way with two goals earning the first star of the game and forward Conlan Keenan notched the game winning goal with 47 seconds left in the second period.
With the win, the Walleye cut the Mavericks series lead in half. The Mavericks will take the 2-1 series lead back to Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence, Missouri this Friday with puck drop at 8:05 pm. The Walleye will look to even the series meanwhile the Mavericks will look to take a commanding 3-1 series lead.
