ROANOKE, Va. – The Berglund Center welcomed the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs back to the Dawg House on Friday night, to face the visiting Knoxville Ice Bears. After a stretch of road games, the crowd was pumped to have the team back on home ice. The Ice Bears were focused on breaking the Roanoke’s eight game home winning streak, which they did with a 2-1 win.

The Ice Bears scored in the first period, and never looked back. They wanted that win streak broken. The Dawgs had some good defense, and C.J. Valerian scored with a great assist from Brenden Stanko.

The Dawgs tried to gain the advantage as they started the second period on the power play. Knoxville’s Jason Brancheau scored what would be the game winning goal, on a rebound. In the third period, the Dawgs were on the defense as Knoxville had two power plays. Roanoke ended up with a couple power plays towards the end of the third, without the desired results.
