ROANOKE, Va – The final home game of the regular season was on Friday night at the Berglund Center, as the Dawgs celebrated the Roanoke Valley and faced the Knoxville Ice Bears. Specialty “540” jerseys, which is the SW Virginia area code, were worn as the Dawgs delivered a 3-0 shutout victory over Knoxville.

After both teams struggled through a scoreless first period, a pass from Roanoke’s Tommy Munichiello to Mac Jansen got Roanoke’s first goal of the night. Jacob Kelly netted a pass from C.J. Stubbs, which was followed up with a goal from Dominiks Marcinkevics, 30 seconds later. Roanoke goalie Austyn Roudebush saved 28 shots, while Knoxville’s Zane Steeves saved 27 of 30 shots.
