ROCHESTER, N.Y. Ryan Miller was inducted into the Rochester Americans Hall of Fame on Friday night, as the team hosted the Laval Rocket. This was a great match up between the two top teams in the AHL – Laval in first, and Rochester in second. Both teams battled hard, but Laval came out victorious and secured the North Division title with a 4-2 win.

The first period got off to a slow start, but Graham Slaggert was able to notch a goal for the Amerks before the end of the frame. As time expired in the period, Jagger Joshua slammed a Rocket player into the boards, and Florian Xhekaj responded for the Rocket. A large scrum broke out and Joshua was given a double minor, and Xhekaj a minor.

In the second, Sean Farrell scored for the Rocket to tie things up. A few minutes later, Laurent Dauphin scored again for the Rocket on the power play to give them the lead. Konsta Helenius scored for the Amerks on a hard drive to the net, to even things up again.

Early into the third period, Noel Hoefenmayer scored for the Rocket to give them the lead. The Amerks pushed hard throughout the period, but Jared Davidson scored again for the Rocket to secure the win.

Jacob Fowler had a busy night in net for the Rocket, stopping 40 of 42 shots faced. Devon Levi stopped 15 of 19 shots faced for the Amerks.
