ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The two top teams from the North Division met in game 1 of the Division Finals this past Wednesday – the Rochester Americans hosted the Laval Rocket at Blue Cross Arena. Both teams played hard but Laval came out victorious, winning 5-4.

A few minutes into the game, Amerk’s Kale Clague scored on the power play and the crowd went crazy. However, Laval got the better of the Amerks the rest of the period. Logan Mailoux scored on the power play, and David Reinbacher scored an even strength goal for the Rocket.

The Amerks started the second period strong. Konsta Helenius and Josh Dunne scored a few minutes apart to give the Amerks the lead. Brandon Gignac scored on the power play for the Rocket to tie it up, and Alex Barre-Boulet scored to give the Rocket the lead again.

In the third, Isak Rosen found the back of the net again for the Amerks, but Oliver Kapanen responded for the Rocket to give them the lead again.

Cayden Primeau stopped 23 of 27 shots faced for the Rocket to get them the win. Devon Levi stopped 29 of 34 shots faced for the Amerks.
