BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – On Sunday, the Bridgeport Islanders welcomed the Lehigh Valley Phantoms for their matchup of the season. Both team had taken a win in the previous meetings, and both teams find themselves out of contention for a playoff position. The Islanders who had played Hartford the previous night in a hard-fought victory, had a slow start to the first period. The period started with two quick goals within the first five minutes by the Phantoms followed by two goals by the Islanders later in the period to end the period tied 2-2.

The second period was dominated by the Phantoms who scored two goals. The Islanders were only able to only muster one goal in the third period, falling short of the Phantoms by a single goal, in a 5-4 loss. The Bridgeport Islanders currently sit in last place in the division and conference while the Phantoms are one spot ahead of them in the division with 10 more points.
