Cory Rokes for Inside the Rink

MILWAUKEE, Wisc. – The Milwaukee Admirals donned copper orange and changed their names to the Milwaukee Cowbells in honor of the infamous Saturday Night Live skit requesting “more cowbell.” Chris Kattan of SNL fame was on hand for a ceremonial puck drop and judge of a cowbell design contest.The Cowbells won against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Tuesday night, final score 5 to 3.
Taking an early lead, the Cowbells own Marc Del Gaizo scored within the first 30 seconds, swiftly followed by a goal from Kyle Marino. Cal O’Reilly of the Admirals kicked of the 2nd period with a goal, before the Phantoms answered with one from Rodrigo Ābols. The Phantoms continued the run into the 3rd period, scoring two more from Brendan Furry and Anthony Richard. The Cowbells regained the lead with another one from Marino and then cinched the win with an empty net goal from Ozzy Wiesblatt.
