KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Knoxville Ice Bears conjured some magic on their Wands and Wizards Night, skating to a thrilling 3-2 victory over the Macon Mayhem.

The game began with Knoxville on it’s heels, as the Ice Bears spent much of the first period defending against an aggressive Macon attack. By the end of the opening frame, Knoxville found themselves outshot 18-9 and trailing 1-0.

But the second period brought a shift in momentum. Fueled by a surge of energy, the Ice Bears struck back. Dawson McKinney and Dalton Skelly led the charge, finding the back of the net and giving Knoxville a 2-1 lead heading into the second intermission.

The third period started on a sour note for Knoxville, as Macon evened the score just 30 seconds in. The teams battled in a seesaw contest until McKinney struck again, slipping the puck past Macon goalie Bailey Brkin at the 9:12 mark to reclaim the lead for Knoxville.

From there, the Ice Bears tightened their defense, shutting down Macon’s offense and preserving their narrow lead. When the final buzzer sounded, Knoxville emerged victorious, sending their fans home happy with a 3-2 win.

The Ice Bears’ resilience and timely scoring ensured a magical night both on and off the ice.
