
CEDAR PARK, Texas. – Sunday evening, the visiting Milwaukee Admirals defeated the Texas Stars 3-1. With the win, the Admirals are now tied with the Stars for first place in the central division.
Grigori Denisenko put the Admirals on the board midway through the first period when he redirected a shot from Kevin Gravel past Stars netminder Remi Poirier. Despite Texas outshooting Milwaukee 15-7 in the first period, the Admirals would take a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
After a scoreless second period, Denisenko put the Admirals up 2-0 with his second goal of the night and third goal of the weekend, when he tapped in a rebound off a shot from Jake Lucchini. Justin Hryckowian cut the Admirals’ lead in half just over 2 minutes later when on the power play, he redirected a slap shot from Matej Blümel past Milwaukee netminder Matt Murray. Ozzy Wiesblatt secured the victory for the Admirals with an empty-net goal in the final minute of the game.
