CEDAR PARK, Texas – Sunday night, the Texas Stars defeated the visiting Milwaukee Admirals 3-1. It was a big night for Texas as they received their leading scorer back from a one-game call up to Dallas, as well as learned that they had clinched a spot in the Calder Cup playoffs just minutes before puck drop.

In the first period, Adam Wilsby kicked off the scoring when he beat Matt Murray with a wrist shot from the high slot. Texas would tie the game minutes later when Emilio Pettersen put a loose puck over a sprawled-out Yaroslav Askarov, making it 1-1. Texas took the 2-1 lead on a Kyle McDonald shot from the right-wing circle.

Neither team would score in an evenly matched second period.

In the third period, Texas added to their lead on the power play when Emilio Pettersen netted his second goal of the night on a one-timer from Derrick Pouliot that beat Askarov, high blocker side.

Matt Murray stopped 18 of 19 shots for the win.
Yaroslav Askarov stopped 32 of 35 shots for the loss.
