CEDAR PARK, Texas – Thursday night, the Texas Stars defeated the visiting Milwaukee Admirals 6-3 in the first game of the second round of the Calder Cup Playoffs.

In the first period, the Admirals got a quick two-goal lead with early goals from Phil Tomasino and Fedor Svechkov. The Stars answered back with a goal from Curtis McKenzie, cutting the Admirals’ lead to one going into the first intermission.

In the second period, the Stars scored two early goals from Matthew Seminoff and Emilio Pettersen, giving the Stars their first lead of the game. Milwaukee would answer back with a goal from Cal O’Reilly. The two teams would go into the second intermission tied 3-3.

In the third period, the Stars would take the lead and never give it back, as they scored three unanswered goals from Matej Blumel, Emilio Pettersen, and Mavrik Bourque.

Remi Poirier stopped 15 of 18 shots for the win. Yaroslav Askarov stopped 24 of 29 shots for the loss.
