CEDAR PARK, Texas – Saturday night, the Texas Stars defeated the visiting Milwaukee Admirals 4-1 to take a 2-0 series lead in the Central Division Semifinals.

The Stars scored first in the first period when Alexander Petrovic beat Milwaukee goaltender Yaroslav Askarov with a slap shot from the point. Texas would take the 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

The Stars would add to their lead in the second period when on the power play Kyle McDonald put a snap shot from the right wing circle past Askarov. The Stars would take the 2-0 lead into the second intermission.

In the third period, Milwaukee cut the Stars lead to 1 when Ozzy Wiesblatt put a one-timer past a diving Remi Poirier, making the score 2-1. Matej Blumel would regain the 2-goal lead for Texas when he tucked a goal past Askarov from behind the goal line. The Stars sealed the victory with an empty net goal from Justin Hryckowian.

Remi Poirier stopped 32 of 33 shots for the win.

Yaroslav Askarov stopped 18 of 21 shots for the loss.
