CEDAR PARK, Texas. – Thursday night, the Texas Stars defeated the visiting Milwaukee Admirals 4-2 to win game one of the Central Division Finals.

Matthew Seminoff put the Stars on the board first just over three minutes into the first period, when he knocked a loose puck under the pads of goaltender Matt Murray during a scramble at the top of the crease. Cal O’Reilly tied the game 1-1 on the power-play, when Mark Friedman, banked a pass off the end boards and straight to O’Reilly, who one-timed it off the rebound and into a wide-open net. Justin Hryckowian regained the lead for the Stars in the final minute of the first period when he banked a wrist shot from behind the goal line off of Murray and into the net.

Hryckowian put the Stars up 3-1 early in the second period, when on the power-play, he tapped in a backdoor pass from Kole Lind

Matej Blümel extended the Stars’ lead to 3 early in the third period when, on a breakaway, he put a wrist shot from the low slot past the blocker side of Murray. Friedman pulled the Amirals to within two goals with a huge slapshot from the top of the right circle that beat Magnus Hellberg, high blocker side. The Admirals would only manage to put 4 more pucks on net in the final 5 minutes of the game, as Texas held on to win 4-2.
