CEDAR PARK, Texas. – Wednesday night, the visiting Ontario Reign defeated the Texas Stars 4-1 at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.

After a scoreless first period, Taylor Ward put Ontario on the board 1:13 into the second period when he put a one-timed slapshot from the blueline past the blocker of Stars goaltender Magnus Hellberg. Ontario would take a 1-0 lead into the second intermission.

Jeff Malott extended Ontario’s lead 2 -0 with just over five minutes remaining in the game with a wrist shot from the top of the left circle that beat Hellberg, glove side. Justin Hryckowian cut the lead in half just 19 seconds later when he wrapped around the Ontario net and tucked the puck under the pads of Ontario netminder Pheonix Copley. Ontario secured the victory with a pair of short-handed empty-net goals from Caleb Jones and Glenn Gawdin in the final minutes of the game.
