PHOTOS: Orlando Solar Bears vs. Florida Everblades – 02/14/2024

ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades dropped their game on Valentine’s Day against the visiting Orlando Solar Bears 4-3 in a shootout, on Wednesday.
The Solar Bears jumped out to a two-goal lead in the first period on goals by Alex Frye (9) and Darick Angeli (5). The Everblades stormed back in the second, scoring three goals to take the lead 3-2. Bobo Carpenter (21) got the Everblades on the scoreboard, followed by Will Reilly (5) and Oliver Chau (15). That lead would only last until 1:30 of the third period when Jimmy Mazza (4) tied the game. Neither team would score in the seven-minute overtime period, sending the game to a shootout. Alex Frye and Jesse Jacques scored on their attempts, and Sean Josling was the only Everblade to succeed on his attempt. The 4-3 victory by the Solar Bears moved them into a tie for fourth place in the South Division. Read the full game recap by James Slemp on Inside the Rink.
