ESTERO, Fla. – Friday night, the Florida Everblades defeated the visiting Orlando Solar Bears 2-1 in front of their fifth sellout crowd of the season.

Jesse Lansdell opened the scoring for the Everblades at 6:50 in the first period when he collected a loose puck at the bottom of the left wing circle and put it low glove side past Solar Bears netminder Alexis Gravel.

Florida outshot Orlando 16-4 in the period and would take a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

Despite Florida continuing to out shoot Orlando in the second period, neither team would score. Florida would hold their 1-0 lead into the second intermission.

Anton Malmström added to the Everblades lead late in the third period when he put a wrist shot from the left point past a heavily screened Gravel, giving Florida a 2-0 lead. Aaron Luchuk cut the Everblades’ lead in half three minutes later with a wrist shot from the point that found its way past Cam Johnson making it 2-1. Orlando would pull their goaltender in favor of an extra attacker in the final two minutes, but neither team could generate any further offense and Florida would hang on to win 2-1.
