JACKSONVILLE, Fla – Saturday night in front of 12,272 fans, the Jacksonville Icemen faced the Orlando Solar Bears for the second of their Military Appreciation weekends. This was the second of three back-to-back games between the two teams, with the first game played in Orlando Friday night and the following two being played in Jacksonville. Orlando took a 5-3 victory, even after being heavily outshot by Jacksonville 39-13.

Having lost the night before, Jacksonville quickly took control of the game, peppering the net with shots, all being turned away by Orlando netminder Evan Fitzpatrick. Orlando scored with their first shot on net during a power play by Darik Angeli. Brayden Low scored another power play goal for Orlando within the last minute of the first period to put the Solar Bears up 2-0.

Orlando scored a goal during the second period and two more in the third to go up 5-0. With less than four minutes left in the game and Fitzpatrick edging closer to getting a shutout, Jacksonville scored three, with goals coming from Craig Martin, Olivier Nadeau, and Brenden Harris. Maybe the momentum from this will carry over into Sunday afternoons match-up between the two teams.
