RALEIGH, N.C. – The PWHL hosted its seventh of the nine Takeover Tour games on Friday night, with this one being held in Raleigh, North Carolina, where the Minnesota Frost faced off against the Ottawa Charge. In front of a lively crowd of 10,782 fans, the atmosphere was electric as spectators celebrated this landmark event for women’s sports. Fans held signs supporting their teams while also embracing the spirit of the game, exchanging friendship bracelets for pucks in a show of community and enthusiasm.

The Frost took control early, dominating the first period with three goals. One of the standout moments came when Brooke McQuigge scored the team’s second goal off her own rebound while lying on her stomach, showcasing determination and skill. The second period saw a more balanced battle between the two teams, but in the third, the Frost reasserted their dominance by netting two more goals.
Goaltender Maddie Rooney played a pivotal role in securing the victory, making several critical saves and ultimately earning a shutout as the Frost defeated the Charge 5-0.

This game was more than just a competition; it was a testament to the growing impact of professional women’s sports. Events like these not only highlight the talent and dedication of female athletes but also serve as a powerful source of inspiration for young girls, encouraging them to pursue sports, challenge barriers, and recognize their own strength and potential.
