FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Friday night, the Fayetteville Marksmen faced off against the Pensacola Ice Flyers. After a thrilling shootout, the Marksmen took a 5-4 victory.

With the regular season nearing its end, both teams hit the ice with high energy and determination. Fayetteville struck early, netting two goals in the first period and gaining a slight advantage heading into the second period. During the second period the Pensacola Ice Flyers were able to put four goals in the net. The Fayetteville Marksmen kept pace, bringing the score to 5-4 by the end of the second.

Late in the third period, Pensacola was able to score again, tying the game and pushing it into OT. Despite fast-paced action and close calls, neither team was able to score in the extra period, sending the game into a shootout.

The Pensacola Ice Flyers were the first team to score in the shootout but the Fayetteville Marksmen were quick to score immediately after. In the following round, the Ice Flyers were unable to score, allowing Fayetteville a chance to take the victory. The Marksmen scored the following round securing a win with a final score of 5-4.
