PHOTOS: Pensacola Ice Flyers vs. Fayetteville Marksmen – 11/03/2024

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Fayetteville Marksmen and the Pensacola Ice Flyers faced off Sunday afternoon at the Crown Complex. The Fayetteville Marksmen took a 4-3 victory after clenching the win in overtime. One minute into the first period Austen Long was hooked from behind on a breakaway, resulting in a penalty shot being rewarded to the Marksmen which put the team on the scoreboard early. 

The Pensacola Ice Flyers and the Fayetteville Marksmen both continued to play a strong defensive and offensive game. In the third period the Pensacola Ice Flyers were able to tie up the game at 3-3 which ultimately led the teams to overtime. A little over a minute into overtime Ryan Lieth of the Marksmen was able to score the winning goal, resulting in a 4-3 victory for the Fayetteville Marksmen.
