KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Knoxville Ice Bears took the ice Saturday for Wiener Dog Races Night, but it was the Peoria Rivermen who raced out to an early lead, scoring five unanswered goals before the midway point of the second period.

Despite the deficit, the Ice Bears fought back. A series of Peoria penalties opened the door for Knoxville, and they capitalized with three goals in just 2:21, cutting the Rivermen’s lead to 5-3 heading into the third period.

Tyler Williams kept the momentum going, pulling Knoxville within one less than three minutes into the final frame. The Ice Bears pressed for the equalizer, generating quality chances, but couldn’t break through. Peoria sealed the win with an empty-net goal in the final seconds, handing Knoxville a hard-fought 6-4 loss.
