BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The Bridgeport Islanders welcomed the Providence Bruins to Bridgeport on Saturday afternoon. Bridgeport is currently last in the Atlantic Division, and Providence is third. Providence has a lot to play for since they are only a few points behind the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and only a few points ahead of the Charlotte Checkers, while the Bridgeport Islanders have less than half the total points than Providence and little hope of turning the season around.
The first period was competitive with a 0-0 result, then the second period opened up with two goals for the Bruins, and three more goals in the third period.

The Providence Bruins won 5-0 against the Bridgeport Islanders and the Bruins improved their seating for the playoffs while Bridgeport have little hope for a playoff spot.
