WORCESTER, Mass. – The Worcester Railers hosted the Reading Royals on Friday evening, the first of two games played over the weekend. The Reading Royals captured a 4-3 shootout victory over the Railers, after a scoreless third and overtime period. The Railers would be celebrating the City of Worcester’s Professional Hockey Heritage, by honoring the AHL Worcester Ice Cats who operated from 1994 to 2005 at the Centrum in Worcester, which is now the DCU Center. The celebration weekend includes the Railers wearing Worcester Ice Cats throw back jerseys.
