CEDAR PARK, Texas – Friday night, the visiting San Jose Barracuda snapped a six-game losing streak when they defeated the Texas Stars 2-1.

The first period was all Texas Stars as they out shot the Barracuda 18-5 and had two power plays. Despite dominating possession, the Stars could not get anything past San Jose goaltender Georgi Romanov, and the the period would end 0-0.

The second period was the exact opposite of the first, the difference being the Barracuda were able to capitalize on one of their two power plays when Oskar Lindblom tapped in a pass from Tristen Robins. The Barracuda would score again just 42 seconds later when Ozzy Wiesblatt fired a slap shot from the top of the right circle past Stars goaltender Remi Poirier, making it 2-0. The Barracuda would take the 2 goal lead into the third period.

The Stars would finally get on the board with just 13 seconds left in the game when Mavrik Bourque tapped in a loose puck during a scramble in the crease, but it was too little too late as the Barracuda hung on to win 2-1.
