JACKSONVILLE, Fla – The Jacksonville Icemen continued their Military Appreciation weekend on Sunday afternoon against the Savannah Ghost Pirates while wearing their Publix Family Funday game jerseys. Having taken the victory the night before in Savannah, Jacksonville took a 4-2 victory for their second win of the back-to-back series. The victory also set a new record for Jacksonville, with an 11-game point streak.

After a scoreless first period, Christopher Brown would tally first for the Icemen for his 18th of the season. Carter Long would even things up on a goal right of the faceoff, to end the second period tied at 1-1. Headed into the third period, Jacksonville’s Riley Fiddler-Schultz scored just over two minutes in, for his 18th of the season. Once again, Savannah would even things up on a power play goal from Logan Drevitch, at the 4.50 mark. Chris Grando made it 3-2 game at the 8.22 mark, with what would be the game winning goal. An empty net goal by Garret Van Wyhe with an assist by goaltender Matt Vernon, sealed the victory for Jacksonville. The two teams will match up again on Wednesday, February 21st, back in Savannah.
