PHOTOS: Savannah Ghost Pirates vs. South Carolina Stingrays – 12/28/2024

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays suffered a loss against the Savannah Ghost Pirates, dropping a 5-1 score in front of a 6,000+ fans at North Charleston Coliseum on Saturday night. Seth Eisele was in the crease for the Rays, stopping 21 shots.

Josh Wilkins gave the Stingrays a brief lead with his eighth goal of the season after he capitalized on a loose puck in front of the net, making it 1-0 early. Liam Arnsby responded for the Ghost Pirates, scoring off an Evan Nause shot, tying the game at 1-1. Then Dennis Cesana put Savannah ahead with a power play goal, giving them the 2-1 lead.

The Ghost Pirates extended their advantage with Kyle Jeffers scoring on a breakaway right, making it 3-1. Savannah’s 4th goal was a wrist shot from Will Riedell.

In the third period, Nick Granowicz sealed the victory for Savannah with a shorthanded goal at 12:08, ending the game at 5-1. Evan Cormier was in the net for the Ghost Pirates, making 32 saves. The two teams will be battling it out again on Sunday, December 29, at the North Charleston Coliseum.
