BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The Bridgeport Islanders welcomed the Syracuse Crunch to Bridgeport on Friday night. Bridgeport is currently last in the Atlantic Division and Syracuse is in the middle of the Northern Division. While Bridgeport is more than 15 points away from the next team above them in the rankings, a few wins for Syracuse could push them into second or third place in the division.
wzzThe game started slow with no goals being scored in the first period, and then Syracuse gained a three goal lead in the second period. The third period was exciting for the Islanders as their player Cam Thiesing scored his first AHL goal. However, the Crunch scored an empty net goal to put the game on ice.
The Islanders ultimately lost to the Crunch with a score of 1 to 4.
