PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence Bruins came up short, losing to the Syracuse Crunch 3-2 in a Shootout. Syracuse started the game with a goal from Cole Koepke in the second. Patrick Brown answered with a goal of his own, tying the game 1-1. While on the power play, Jack Finley put the Crunch up 2-1. Anthony Richard tied the game back up on a goal that hit a defender before crossing the goal line. The game would stay tied, sending the game into overtime. The game remained 2-2 at the end of overtime, and Syracuse’s Gage Gonclaves scored the shootout winner.
