NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After a tough loss Thursday night, the Nashville Predators looked to bounce back at home Saturday against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Toronto struck first when John Tavares found the back of the net just over nine minutes into the game. Four minutes later, Mitch Marner added another, sending the Predators into the first intermission trailing 2-0.

Nashville responded with urgency in the second. Just 1:39 in, Michael Bunting put the Predators on the board with a power-play goal. Kieffer Bellows and Filip Forsberg followed up with goals of their own, giving Nashville a 3-2 lead heading into the third.

The Predators kept up the pressure in the final period. Luke Evangelista buried a wrist shot midway through the third to extend the lead, and Forsberg sealed the win with an empty-net goal at 19:23, his second of the night.

The 5-2 victory snapped Nashville’s four-game losing streak and gave them a much-needed boost in front of the home crowd.
