WORCESTER, Mass. – The Worcester Railers, coming off a two-week six-game road trip in Florida, found their winning ways on Saturday night, posting a 4-0 shutout win over the Trois-Rivières Lions.

Reece Newkirk was in the Worcester Railers line up, coming back on a re-assignment from the Bridgeport Islanders. John Muse stopped all 30 shots he faced, picking up his second shutout of the season. The Railers had goals from four different skaters. Connor Welsh started the scoring beating Lions goalie Zachary Emond high glove side, giving the Railers the lead 1-0, the only goal of the first period. Reece Newkirk gave the Railers a 2-0 lead at the 1:30 mark of the second period. Jack Quinlivan scored the Railers third goal with 32 seconds left in the second period, extending the lead to 3-0 Railers after two periods. Andrei Bakanov scored the fourth Railers goal at 3:48 of the third period to cap the scoring. Lions goalie Zachary Emond would be pulled shortly after the goal, being replaced by Joe Vrbetic. Anthony Callin had three assists in the game, which came on the Railers first three goals. The game was filled with 54 minutes of penalties being handed out, including fighting majors, double minors, and roughing infractions.

The Three Stars of the game were all from Worcester:

1.) John Muse-30 saves, shutout win. 2.) Connor Welsh- 1 goal, 1 assist. 3.) Anthony Callin- 3 assists.
