ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Rochester Amerks started the weekend strong with a 5-1 win over the Utica Comets on Friday night at Blue Cross Arena.

Despite giving up the game’s first goal to Utica’s Ryan Schmelzer, the Amerks quickly bounced back with five goals of their own. Mason Jobst and Lukas Rousek each scored before the end of the first period, securing a 2-1 lead for Rochester. The second period saw Anton Wahlberg and Nikita Novikov each add a point to the lead, bringing the score to 4-1. Isak Rosén officially sealed the win in the third period with a fifth and final goal.

Devon Levi earned his 5th consecutive win with 29 saves for the night. Levi was named in the AHL All-Star Roster earlier this week, and Friday’s game put him at 12-2-1 on the season. The night also marked significant milestones for two Amerks players: Ryan Johnson played in his 100th professional game, while Jagger Joshua made his debut with Rochester.
