"Brett Ballachino" for Inside The Rink

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Rochester Americans notched another win on Wednesday against the Utica Comets. Most of the game was controlled by the Amerks, getting up 3-0 at the start of the third period. The Comets fought hard at the end, but it would not be enough, and the Amerks held on to win 3-2. 

Konsta Helenius scored early in the first after being set up beautifully by Riley Fiddler-Schultz – his first point of the season.

In the second,  Fiddler Schultz continued to find success and scored his first goal of the season. Later in the period, Brett Murray scored from a nice assist from Helenius. With less than a minute left in the period, Mason Jobst of the Amerks and Xavier Parent of the Comets dropped the gloves and duked it out. 

Mike Hardman scored the first goal of the night for the Comets in the third. Shortly after that, Brandan Warren of the Amerks, and Samuel Laberge of the Comets also dropped the gloves and had a nice bout. Hardman scored one more goal for the Comets with seconds left in the game. The Comets tried to take the game to overtime but could not find the back of the net a third time.

Both teams went 0-2 on the powerplay. 

Devon Levi stopped 21 of 23 shots faced for the Amerks, and Isaac Poulter stopped 20 of 23 shots faced for the Amerks.
